Touchpad zoom function

Hello guys,

I've seen on my friend's Medion Notebook with Windows 7 that he is able to zoom in and out with his synaptics touchpad.

Is this hardware related or can I have this feature with my Thinkpad SL500 as well?

Regards

Re: Touchpad zoom function

Think yes, if its properly configured. Right now I have my 7 years old laptop with the ability of scrolling with two fingers. I think its an Xorg thing.

Re: Touchpad zoom function

What do you mean by scrolling with two fingers?

Re: Touchpad zoom function

I put my fingers next to each other on the touchpad and I can scroll this page instead of moving the cursor.

Re: Touchpad zoom function

Hey nice, haven't known about this feature. I followed this guide to enable it as well and it's pretty nice.

Would love to have some equivalent for the zoom.

Re: Touchpad zoom function

Mine was out of the box, didnt need any special configuration. But I think the only way to do this is by enabling a Composite manager like compiz and then bind it somehow with this gesture.

Re: Touchpad zoom function

Surely? Why shouldn't there be any synclient configuration?

Re: Touchpad zoom function

I dont know, maybe its a KDE out-of-the-box thing... and maybe there is some configuration out there.

Re: Touchpad zoom function

AUR's kcm_touchpad may help you via GUI, but you need to make sure that your touchpad is recognized as synaptics and works will.

Re: Touchpad zoom function

Thanks but I'd like to have a kde-independent solution for my Gnome desktop.
