Re: Problem with make command and wireless driver

You didn't get "an error/warning" - you got warnings, which is not unusual. Your module compiled successfully, so no need to worry about the warnings.

Have a look at dmesg immediately after loading the driver, and again after attempting to connect.

Re: Problem with make command and wireless driver

When i enter my wireless info manually with: (iwconfig ra0 essid "my essid" key "my-key")
it doesn't register properly.See below

iwconfig

ra0 Ralink STA ESSID:"" Nickname:"RT3562STA"
          Mode:Auto Frequency=2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated

Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
ifconfig

ra0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 34:08:04:01:39:D7
          inet6 addr: fe80::3608:4ff:fe01:39d7/64 Scope:Link

          RX bytes:229956 (224.5 Kb) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
          Interrupt:17

When i try wicd i lose control of my keyboard/mouse and have to do a hard shutdown.

Re: Problem with make command and wireless driver

Did you actually load the module once you finished compiling it?

EDIT: Never mind, I see it in your lsmod. wink

Re: Problem with make command and wireless driver

Sidenote: 2860 is supported in the kernel. Also, the drive you tried to build is in aur.

Re: Problem with make command and wireless driver

From what i can tell my driver is working properly, my wireless card turns on.I can see it with ifconfig and iwconfig.
When i run iwconfig my essid doesn't set properly and my access point is not-associated because of it.The first line of iwconfig when i run it should be
something like     IEEE 802.11bg  ESSID:"myessid"     or     Ralink STA  ESSID:"myessid"      instead of      Ralink STA  ESSID:""  Nickname:"RT3562STA".
Is there any other way to input my essid other then         iwconfig ra0 essid "myessid" key "mykey"       .That method doesn't seem to work on this wireless card
Card Name: DWA-525

iwconfig

ra0 Ralink STA ESSID:"" Nickname:"RT3562STA"
          Mode:Auto Frequency=2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
          Bit Rate:1 Mb/s
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Link Quality=10/100 Signal level:0 dBm Noise level:-115 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
