[SOLVED] Switching between Gnome and terminal sessions

Ctrl + alt + f2-f6 work for switching to a tty from Gnome, but when I switch back, it brings me back to a terminal (indicating that X is still running). How do I get back to my Gnome session?

Edit: Silly me, Ctrl + alt + f7 is what I needed to do. Thanks for the help.

Re: [SOLVED] Switching between Gnome and terminal sessions

Details please. How do you switch back? What do you see when you switch back?

If your settings are like most people's, ctrl-alt-f7 should take you back.

Ctrl+Alt+F1 usually takes you to a terminal like that, and like fsckd says, ctrl+alt+f7 usually returns you to gnome.

Re: [SOLVED] Switching between Gnome and terminal sessions

On my machine using the ctrl and alt buttons that are on the right hand side of the keyboard will work to get me to a tty from X, but once Im at the tty only the ones on the left hand side will work to switch between them and get back to 7. I though maybe you might be trying to use the right hand side ones?
