2.6.38 has broken lirc (or is it me?)

Hi,

I tried for a few hours to get Lirc to work and everything seems to be just fine. No errors in any logging (dmesg, lircd and lircd.1) and lircd starts just fine (restarts just fine as well). Yet when i run irw and press some remote controls i see absolutely nothing (not in the logs either). So i thought maybe something is wrong with my receiver (mceusb) but when i do irrecord i do get signals in so the receiver is working. What is wrong here?

I searched on google and it seems to be occuring more often for 2.6.38 and there seems to be some driver changing going on in lirc (?) which apparently broke for me.
Any ideas how i can get lirc to work on the 2.6.38 kernel?

I sadly can't show any logging since there is just nothing to see. I wonder if more people have this issue and how they fixed it.

Regards,
Mark
