vga_switcheroo not working. 2.6.38, Thinkpad W500

I have a Thinkpad W500 with kernel 2.6.38 x86_64.

On startup, both the Ati and Intel cards are powered.

"switch" input cases:

1. OFF: screen freezes. REISUB required.
2. ON: nothing, both cards are already on.
3. IGD: screen freezes. REISUB required.
4. DIS: screen goes black. If IGD is inputted blindly, screen turns back on, but it is frozen. Either way, REISUB required.

Computer works fine if switchable graphics is turned off in BIOS.

I would get an error log, but I can't seem to find the relevant one.

Check dmesg for any exceptions. My t500 hangs when i'm turning off radeon card. I've started this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=116723

Should be fixed in 2.6.38.5: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33812 The patch has been sent to -stable.
