Hi everyone,
There's an accepted Google Summer of Code Project about Arch Linux!
Archlinux backend for OpenSUSE Build Service
What do you think? Is anyone here involved in this?
Great project IMO

Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

True, but I can see http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proj … dgnu/13001 just fine. You can use the menu on the left to navigate.
Archlinux backend for OpenSUSE Build Service
Nikolay Rysev
Abstract
The Build Service currently allows to build packages for RPM and DEB based distributions. Goal is to add support for building Archlinux packages and an UI integration into OBS.
For some reason, http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proj … 11/madgnu/ and all the parent dirs in the hierarchy return a 404.

Nope, doesn't load.

Even if it late, it might be worth mentioning:
The outcome from this GSoC project was documented at
http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buil … 00179.html
BTW: OBS was renamed in 2010 to http://openbuildservice.org/ because it can build for Debian, Fedora, and CentOS for a long time.

We're using http://www.pkgbuild.com/ , not sure if there's need for anything else.

I think, the main advantage of OBS is that it allows developers of applications to build+publish for many distributions&versions from one source in one place.
(And also the compile farm is bigger (and uses KVM to not need much trust in devs))
