xfce4 problems

What is the proper way to install xfce4? I have done:

# pacman -S xfce4 xfce4-goodies

and xfce4 installs, but when I go to run it, it either has problems locating libxfce4gui.so.3, wants some host information that I can't give it, (I use dhcp) or it has problems finding all of the components. WHat am I doing wrong? I thought it should be idiotically simple, run pacman, nano .xinitrc, and startx, but that isn't working. Any ideas?

Re: xfce4 problems

Make sure that /opt/xfce4/bin is in $PATH.
