The fonts under Applications in GNOME Shell look like I'm missing a font. What font's are required by GNOME 3. There are also multiple entries of applications.

ganlu: Those fonts are installed.
mar04: I'll check them out.

mar05: How do I apply those themes? I can only get the window borders to theme.

Instructions:
Backup your theme directory first. Extract the zip file and rename "gnome-shell" directory to "theme" and copy to /usr/share/gnome-shell/. This path is usually where GNOME Shell is installed.
Restart GNOME Shell by Alt, F2, then type r and press enter. You can use the gnome-shell theme extension for easier installation of themes.
If it doesn't work check the permissions on /usr/share/gnome-shell/theme directory.
I tried Drakfire Caffe Shell Theme and fonts look much better, but I don't like colors.

If you install the gnome-shell-extensions-git from AUR, you can change the shell theme with the gnome tweak tool. If you do install the user extensions, make sure to edit the PKGBUILD to only include the extensions you want. See here for the possible ones -> https://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Extensions . You are interested in the user-theme extension. Once you have that installed, any shell themes in your ~/.themes folder will be selectable with the gnome tweak tool.
