Minecraft jdk-dev

So after reading around I saw reports that using jdk7 improves minecraft performance significantly. So I go ahead and install jdk-dev via yaourt. Now when I try to run minecraft it doesn't open, and when run via terminal it says
java: relocation error: java: symbol JLI_Launch, version SUNWprivate_1.1 not defined in file libjli.so with link time reference
Also I am running arch64 with openbox as a windows manager if that matters. I could always change back to the stable release, but I do desire improved speed in minecraft. Any help?

Re: Minecraft jdk-dev

Some forward incompatibilities are normal for java.
I believe, you have to recompile application with new jdk before running it in new jre.

It is possible also, that you'll have compile-time errors and won't be able to recompile due to changes in packages/classes names.
