Summer of Code

http://code.google.com/summerofcode.html

This Summer, don't let your programming skills lie fallow...Use them for the greater good of Open Source Software and computer science! Google will provide a $4500 award to each student who successfully completes an open source project by the end of the Summer.

It would be great if Arch Linux were in projects list.
Anyway I'm just curious if someone participate in it?

Re: Summer of Code

I was looking at that, thought it would be something interesting to get involved in over the summer... except, despite the fact I just did my first year of CS, I pretty much suck at programming sad

Practise....

Re: Summer of Code

I would if I could handle the topics provided for the gaim project; I am clueless on how to write code for communication protocols.

Re: Summer of Code

I've applied under Python. If accepted I'm going to port IDLE from tk to swing. I've used Java a lot, so I figure this would be right up my alley.
