Hi All
Having recently updated my system, when i run geany to edit conky for instance, i get the following error message which i have not had before
(geany:3239): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to store changes into `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: Failed to create file '/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel.J64NUV': No such file or directory
(geany:3239): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to set the permissions of `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: No such file or directory
Any suggestions please

Are you logged in as root? Or as a normal user (yourself)?
Are you running this from root prompt or using sudo? It looks like geany is trying to create/edit a file in root user's home (/root). If you are not root, then this will fail as you will not have permissions..
However, if you are not root, applications should not (and will not) automatically try to write to /root..
Also, how did you launch geany? Is it from a terminal? or is it from a file manager?
