[SOLVED] Cannot correctly format USB pen

Hi, i have an old problem with totally formatting USB pen. I tried a lot of programs in linux and windows and none of them work. The problem is only in arch, when i plug in usb and i open file manager (tried thunar, pcmanfm, nautilus - same problem) i see old "partition" with Arch setup and second partition with my data, but i don't use partition with my data until i umount partition with archsetup. I tried formatting it, create new partition table and still same problem. Arch setup partition have been created with flashplugin or dd, i don't remember. Filesystem is NTFS, in windows seems normal (only one partition), please help

USB and System Souborový Systém 21... is one USB pen !!

Hi!

Try this wiki article: Format a device

How to use fdisk see here: Partitioning with fdisk

Good luck!

Re: [SOLVED] Cannot correctly format USB pen

What are you trying to achieve? If you want to permanently cleanse sensitive data try "shred". If it's just basic formatting you can't go wrong with the Gparted Live CD.
