MediaWiki for ArchLinux?

I like that it supports html and html-like syntax a lot... I don't have to learn yet another formatting language.

yeah..there are a few quirks..
like headings are
===section===

and '''blah''' is a bold and so forth..
but, it isn't too terribly aggregious for simple markups, and does allow more complex things (like tables).

Minimum criteria for Wiki in Arch, must include category and sub-category feature, and supports PHP 5. Also user login if possible (to block spamming).

MediaWiki does all this, and so does cowiki. I think mediawiki has an edge in features (like automatic table of contents for a page..very nice).

Why do people use pdf for stuff that is expected to be read online? pdf is great for printing but....

Other than that, I'd say this has it covered. When do we start!?

The sooner the better is good for me because I *need* web based stuff to do at work to fill those long boring days...
