printk timestamps

Since some recent kernel upgrade I see timestamps for all kernel output (CONFIG_PRINTK_TIME=y), especially in /var/log/dmesg.log.

This confuses my logcheck rules, so I tried to turn it off via kernel line in grub:

kernel /vmlinuz26 cryptdevice=/dev/disk/by-uuid/b279588a-0ddc-4447-8844-2053caa492db:root root=/dev/mapper/root printk.time=0 quiet ro

This didn't do anything. Any suggestions how to properly disable the timestamps (and why they suddenly appeared)?

Thanks
