I have recently installed Arch on my computer for the first time, and I have had no audio. I have tried countless work around with alsa and pulse, but I am have no luck.

Lets start with a quick sanity check. Could you post the output of cat /proc/asound/cards ??
Did you run alsaconf as root? Did it find your card or did it offer to scan for legacy ISA boards?

cat /proc/asound/cards
1 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xd9300000 irq 46
And I did run alsaconf and it tried to find legacy drivers, but did not find any.

Good Morning.
Okay, you are fighting a bug in alsaconf. Somehow, some Intel high def audio cards are not found by the utility. We will patch its data base to add your devices vendor and product ID, but first we need to find out what they are. From your lspci, Your audio device is on the PCI bus as defined by 00:1b.0. But we need the numeric definition rather than the human readable one. Could you post the output of:
lspci -n | grep 00:1b.0
I'll then be able to tell you how to patch /var/tmp/alsaconf.cards

Add the line
PCI: 0x8086=0x293e
to the file /var/tmp/alsaconf.cards, and then re-run alsaconf.
(Note that /var/tmp/alsaconf.cards only exists if you have previously tried to run alsaconf)

Perhaps you need to open up the volume on speakers...select ..F5.... while in alsamixer and open the volume on the speakers.

I tried that out and alsa still did not find any audio cards.

My bad -- I think I forgot one detail
In that file, find the line that says snd-hda-intel.o
Move the line I gave you to the section just after that line and before the next line that ends with .o. There should be other lines in this section that contain 0x8086= as well

That did help alsa find my video card and set it up, but I feel I might have caused another problem somewhere else in my trouble shooting that I wonder if you might be able to help me out with

Been there, done that.
What is doing now? Can you run amixer and un-mute as suggested by lilsirecho ?
Is your user part of the audio group ?
How have you tried generating audio ?
