Hi dear Arch users!
It's my firtst post on this forum, so please be gentle ;-)
I'm installing Arch on my laptop and I have a significant problem:
After following the instruction manual and begginers guide step by step I'm stuck at getting Xorg working.
I've arrived to the point of trying wether X's work, so I just simply typed:
# startx
I recieve a "command not found" error. I've googled it before posting here and it looks like I don't have the xorg-xint package installed. But... I can't install it. I've tried and recieved this:
# pacman -S xorg-xint
error: target not found: xorg-xint
I've used archlinux-2010.05-netinstall-i686.iso for installation, if this matters. What should I do? I'm stuck
Regards

Using this?
# pacman -Syu
Yes. I did. I've even tried different pacman repos mirrors but it still doesn't do the trick

Hi turekpolski,
First, the name of the package is "xorg-xinit", not "xorg-xint"
Try: "pacman -S xorg-server xorg-xinit xorg-utils xorg-server-utils" again.
Also, from: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg
"Optionally, install twm, xclock and xterm for the default xorg-xinit environment:"
"pacman -S xorg-twm xorg-xclock xterm"
Then try "startx" again.
good luck.

PollyMath... Thank you! :-) of course it is "-xinit" and not "-xint"... Such a foolish mistake, now I'm embarresed of even creating this topic. Thank you all for help. Works like a charm now ;-)
