Gnome-volume-control not found

When trying to open up volume control I'm getting an error saying

Failed to start Volume Control: Failed to execute child process "gnome-volume-control" (No such file or directory)

I looked, and gnome-volume-control isn't in /usr/bin. I looked around in the repos and it isn't in gnome-media or gnome-media-pulse, so I'm guessing the package was split, or there was an alternative package or something around that, possibly because of GNOME 3, which I don't have.
For now I've downgraded the package.

Re: Gnome-volume-control not found

check the aur, that might have it.  i haven't used gnome in nearly 2 years but i find it strange that such a program would be missing.

fyi, both alsa and pulseaudio have their own mixers.  if all else fails you can use those.
