compiz stopped working

Hello!

After my most recent reboot, compiz stopped working. fusion-icon says:

LC_ALL=C dbus-launch "fusion-icon"
 * Detected Session: xfce
 * Searching for installed applications...
 * NVIDIA on Xorg detected, exporting: __GL_YIELD=NOTHING
 * Using the GTK Interface
 * Starting Compiz
 ... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp --loose-binding --indirect-rendering
inotify_add_watch: No such file or directory
fuse: failed to access mountpoint compiz: No such file or directory
process 5429: arguments to dbus_message_iter_append_basic() were incorrect, assertion "*bool_p == 0 || *bool_p == 1" failed in file dbus-message.c line 2541.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
  D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
sh: line 5: gdb: command not found

[CRASH_HANDLER]: "/tmp/compiz_crash-5429.out" created!

(xfwm4:5447): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: gvalue.c:184: cannot initialize GValue with type `gint', the value has already been initialized as `gint'

I think all of that except for the last two lines of text has been there before. The crash.out file mentioned is empty. There were some kernel update among other things since it last worked, I didn't change anything else.

Can't figure out how to fix this, some hints would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: compiz stopped working

Same here, 64-bit laptop w/ Nvidia. Tried to rebuild compiz-core from sources but I got a compilation error and didn't bother any further. It might be hardware dependent though, as it runs OK on my 64-bit desktop (w/ Nvidia too).

Re: compiz stopped working

Fire up "Settings Manager" by right-clicking the fusion-icon in the systray and de-select "DBus" from the utility section. That fixed it for me.
