ACER ONE Versus EEE 700

I replaced my EEE 700 with an Acer One D255E.
They are obviously quite different, one having a 250G HG, the other an SSD 4G, etc...
I don't know if that is normal, but I find my old EEE much snapier than the new Acer.
Particulary, my Acer seems to access the HD quite often and while it does it momentarily freezes.  I could be simply typing in gvim or scrolling and when the HD gets active, everything stops.

I wonder if anything can be done to improve on this.

I think that the SSD makes the EEEPC feel snappy. That, and the Acer logo on the other netbook of course. smile

Maybe...
Anyway, I tried by changing some fstab setting such as noatime and /tmp to tmpfs.  Does not seem to make much improvement.
