[Gnome 3] GDM crash with wrong username input

That is pretty much it if I enter a non-existing user with passwd gdm crashes with the following error.

Apr 22 03:50:16 localhost gnome-session[12831]: Gdk-WARNING: gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.
Apr 22 03:50:16 localhost gdm-binary[3183]: WARNING: GdmDisplay: display lasted 0,012847 seconds

Can you reproduce this?

Re: [Gnome 3] GDM crash with wrong username input

you should recompile gdm and accountsservice with debug and paste the log from /var/log/gdm

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De … tings_only

:0-greeter.log and :0-slave.log eventually :0-greeter.log.1 and  :0-slave.log.1 if gdm automatically restarts.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: [Gnome 3] GDM crash with wrong username input

Just to be clear when I enter a non-existing username I crash to tty1 and can find gdm again on tty7 I think with a bit of a delay.

I recompiled gdm and accountsservice with the following -

!strip
export CFLAGS="$CFLAGS -g -O1"
export CXXFLAGS="$CXXFLAGS -g -O1"

I have attached trace.log from gdb on /usr/sbin/gdm-binary with the rest of the log files you requested except :0-slave.log  which seem to be empty.

I hope I got it right else please let me know, thanks.

Hey, does anybody know if this issue has been solved? I've got the same issure here, plus I'm thrown back to tty1 whenever "cancel" is clicked while logging in or an incorrect password is used.
Thanks.
