Looking for a way to bulk rename song titles according to filename

Mr Brainiac (that would be me) just managed the deft feat of renaming the song titles of all my Minnie Riperton songs to "Minnie Riperton."

The filenames still have the song titles, but there is a lot to go through by hand. Does anyone know of a smooth way to bulk rename ID Tags according to filename, preferable with some filter functions?

Try kid3, it has some nifty powers on what you need.

It's already solved but easytag can do that too (although the project seems to have died quite a while ago).
