Compiz++ or Compiz09; it's about time Compiz gets an update in Arch Linux.

you might think it's "stable" , but the devs (upstream) it's unstable so that's a no.

Re: Arch Homer Madness! Nominations

galculator - surprised it isn't in repos already. pretty popular.
lrzip - high compression rations (near-LZMA) with much better times (and because i'm a massive ck fanboy)
sxiv - very good quality image viewer.
dropbear - as good as sshd for most people's purposes, and a lot more lightweight too.

It's included in mplayer but not in mplayer2 - check their webpage for details: http://www.mplayer2.org/comparison.html [1]
You can use pkgfile (from pkgtools package) to search which package (if any) has the file you need.

Well, I did not see any such news, even on the mplayer website.. It is only mplayer2 that has mentioned that it is dumping the mencoder citing that it's code was not well written. Mplayer2 has also mentioned that they will be coming up with an alternative to mencoder "soon".. But no such news from official mplayer site..

splitting is done in our package not upstream.

Librecad-git should replace the current qcad in community.  It is basically qcad ported to qt4 with more features and even more to come.

yaourt: "A pacman wrapper with extended features and AUR support"

4593 votes, for now. GPL license. KISS but at the same time very comfortable indeed.

pangzero:  awesome game

According to the maintainer, the game is unmaintained upstream which is why he doesn't want to bring it into [community]

That just means it does not require updated once it gets in the repos tongue

Ok!

So, I would like to make an atypical proposal:

PeaZip
http://sourceforge.net/projects/peazip/ (1466 recommendations; 1,536 downloads this week on SourceForge)
http://www.peazip.org/

"Cross-platform file and archive manager. Features volume spanning, compression, authenticated encryption. Supports 7Z, 7-Zip sfx, ACE, ARJ, BZ2, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, GZ, ISO, JAR, LHA/LZH, NSIS, OOo, PAQ/LPAQ, PEA, QUAD, RAR, RPM, split, TAR, Z, ZIP."
"Open Source file and archive manager: flexible, portable, secure, and free as in freedom"
"A total of 129 file extensions are supported, and translations are available in 27 languages."

License: GNU Library or Lesser General Public License (LGPL)

EDIT: packages updated

wmfs: very nice and lightweight wm. non-git version in aur seems unmaintained.

edit: just realised git version is recommended..

Puddletag - A very close clone of Mp3tag. Its (IMO) better than Easytag.

Floola - A nice application for handling iPods and Motorola phones.
