Hi guys, 2 hours ago. I upgrade my arch x64
when I reboot , udev load failed and network load failed too.
I checkout pacman's log , it said there was update kernel pkg.
I use `pacman -Q kernel26`
It said the kernel is 38
but when I boot .login the system.
uname -a
it was kernel 37
startx get a freezen desk!
so sad !
how can I solve the problem!
thanks !

Did you read everything during the update? (Messages about pacnew files, etc.) I'm wondering because you say you had to look at pacman's log to know that there was a kernel update...
Check /boot/grub/menu.lst to see if you're booting to the normal kernel26 or to another kernel.

Did you try the fallback image? If so did it do the same or different? It could be what falconindy said or stqn. Always make sure you look for messages during an upgrade, it is sometimes vital to your installation's cooperation. Pacman usually gives useful and informative messages when it updates. Information that is probably of value relating to those packages.

Thanks very much .
I reinstall kernel 37. then I can get into the system.
I check out my /boot. there is no grub dir. as @falconindy say.
I didn't mount the right /boot when upgrade. that is the point !
so I mount the right /boot (/dev/sda2) and upgrade again
everything is OK!
thx everyone !
thx falconindy
