Hi guys,
i installed Arch on my Acer Travelmate WLMI 4002 Laptop & i can't load the speedstep_centrino module. the CPU is Pentium M 1.6 GHz.
when i run
modprobe speedstep-centrino
i get no such device.
any help would be appreciated.

Isn't that speedstep_centrino with a _ and not a - ?

same difference, i found on other forums that i have to use the acpi-cpufreq driver. so i will mess with it a bit now.

the "no such device" means the kernel loaded the module but couldn't find any hardware to match the module - in this case you didn't have a processor supported by the "centrino" cpufreq module

He's got a Pentium M, it should be supported...

Well i read some other forums & found out that the Pentium M 725 & up are not supported by the centrino module. there is a patch called speedspet-centrino-dothan-3 which fixed the problem.i think the module works better than the acpi one.
