Been trying to solve this for a bit but can't seem to figure it out. I've got an onboard CM8738 using the snd-cmipci module. It plays sound fine one program at a time, but not from two (or more). I've been trying the suggestions in the wiki but so far nothing has worked. The system was installed about a week ago now and I just did a pacman -Syu to make sure everything was up to date.

the sound deamon you are using dosent mix the sound together for your sound card. the new alsa does this for up to 4 streems. Make shure you have the latest alsa with pacman -Syu Open up the control pannel and go to Sound & multimedia >>> Sound System >>> hardware. change it to
Advanced Linux Sound Arcitecture

you can also setup dmix - there's a section in the wiki... I personally like dmix because it works in any WM and is not gnome/kde specific

Think he's talking about dmix, as I've understood it, dmix is now enabled as default and no setup should be necessary.
Apps has to be configured to use alsa though, and I think that's where the kde control centre comes into play.
