Integrated webcam on Toshiba A660

I'm a bit of a noob but have plowed through the majority of the issues I faced after first installing Arch on this laptop. Unfortunately, I haven't even the slighest clue where to begin looking for drivers for its generic integrated webcam, if indeed any exist.

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1164:0871 YUAN High-Tech Development Co., Ltd
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0930:0214 Toshiba Corp.

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0955:7002 NVidia Corp.

I suspect it's device 003, but where exactly do I go from here? I couldn't find any mention of 'YUAN' or indeed Toshiba on the Webcam Setup page. I'm willing to try and find the right driver through trial and error later, but if somebody can point me in the right direction please do. smile

Re: Integrated webcam on Toshiba A660

You would want to base your search on 1164:0871.  That is the VendorCode:ProductCode for the device, and yes that is the web cam.

I would bet that all of the V4L2 stuff is all ready to go (Video For Linux v2).  VLC and mplayer may already work if you use the pseudo url tv:// for the input.

I am not in front of the correct computer, but it is something like:

mplayer tv:// driver=v4l2

or something to that effect.  Check the man page.
