Best way to suspend to RAM on Asus ul80vt?

Hi, guys! I have read a lot of info about this and also the wiki (hibernate-script) and I am very confused about suspending to RAM and hibernating succesfully on this machine.

Previously I had hibernate working with the hibernate script, but the comp would take LOTS of time to resume from hibernation (3-10 minutes) and suspend locked up the machine after I entered the unlock password. So I got rid of hibernate-script and I am looking for some help before I try to do this again.

I CAN'T live without suspend to RAM, and I dont mind not getting hibernate to work properly, but suspend to RAM is a must for me.

On the wiki it said that there are different methods for suspending to both RAM and disk.

Which method should I use that gets me the fastest resume time?

EDIT= 1 more thing, if I do:

 cat /sys/power/state
mem disk

So suspend to RAM is supposed to work...no?

If you've got as far as reading the wiki, it's not hard to take the next step i.e. try the various methods, and decide which is best for you.

FWIW I use pm-utils with uswsusp backend for suspend2ram - works fine for me.

I use s2ram (owned by uswsusp-git from the AUR) mainly because it has a force option if your computer is not recognised
