I'm using Gnome 4 and I can't find system settings, multimedia. I have system settings -> sound and there I cannot find anything related to phonon.

I use dwm, and amarok it's still working. but I have phonon-vlc installed..

I installed phonon-vlc and configured Amarok to use this phonon backend and now I have sound!

I'll just me too that fix, installing phonon-vlc fixed it for me too.
Also Amarok works with the Creative Zen Style 100 which is handy as I king of need it too! (My middle son has just got one for Christmas).
