Accessing the Desktop via Clutter in a gnome-shell extension

Hi everybody,

I thought it might be a nice idea, to have an application-menu like in OpenBox, that opens when you click on your desktop. As the desktop is not used for anything else in GNOME 3, this seems to be quite useful to me.

I know, that the main-panel can be accessed quite simple with "imports.ui.main.panel" - but how can I access the desktop? I found no information concerning this in the gnome-shell docs.

Thanks for your help in advance,

brb

Not entirely related, but with Gnome Tweak Tool, you can set Nautilus to handle the desktop, returning it to how it was before shell (icons, etc).

Hi rp181,

thanks for your replay - but as you say this does not actually concern the Clutter API smile

Thanks anyhow,
