i use uswsusp and hibernate-script to suspend to disk , my question is could resuming be faster in some way
without the grub messages
after that it's fast , but can i get rid of as many seconds spent by grub and just resume the thing like it's done on windows.

When hibernating your machine still needs to know how to boot, so must go through grub. What about simply reducing the "timeout" in /boot/grub/menu.lst to one or two seconds?
Philosophy is looking for a black cat in a dark room. Metaphysics is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there. Religion is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there and shouting "I found it!". Science is looking for a black cat in a dark room with a flashlight.

Any way to hide the messages by grub after a boot option has been selected? I know what I chose so there's no point in showing it to me for 3 seconds. Tbh I'd prefer a blank screen.
