newbie question about epoch flag [solved]
If one uses the epoch flag in version 1.1 of a PKG and subsequently releases version 1.2 of the same package, does the epoch flag need to be set in the version 1.2 release as well? Further, does the epoch flag need to remain in the PKGBUILD indefinitely?

Right, but only if epoch is equal (i.e epoch=1 in version 1.1 and epoch=1 in version 1.2). To me that means that epoch needs to be in the PKGBUILD indefinitely once a user introduces into the PKGBUILD, right?
