I'm doing a fresh install of Arch on my machine (yes it is 64 bit.) I had it installed in the past. I chose to do a net install like always. Usually no problems but this time I was getting lots of errors. Error retrieving file no record. (some files would get downloaded) I thought it was a problem with the mirror. I switched mirrors and still the same problem occured. Then I tried ftp.archlinux.org and STILL the same errors. I thought something was wrong with my network. Then I put in a 32 bit disk in my laptop and everything worked perfectly. After that I put it in my other machine and did a net install. No problems at all! So this leads me to believe that the x86_64 packages on ftp.archlinux.org are messed up and cause the rest to be messed up. Keep in mind that i had 64 bit arch on this computer in the past with no issues. Has any one else been getting lots of download errors lately. I'm convinced the problem is with the package database but maybe someone else can confirm this.

I'm using the 64-bit repos on two machines daily with no issues. And FYI ftp.archlinux.org is just another mirror - the main server that all mirrors sync with is not publically available.
I suggest you post the exact errors you are seeing, so that people who are interested have something to work with.

Turns out the problem was that ethernet driver that arch was using. I just had to load the new driver everything worked perfect.
