Lilo to boot from CD

Its possible to put an entry in lilo to boot a floppy... I think its just other=/dev/fd0 or something, I can't remember. Is it possible to set it up to boot from the CDROM drive as well?

Re: Lilo to boot from CD

I did. and I STFW too. Nothing specific to booting from a CD.

I tried this:

other=/dev/hda
  label="CD-ROM"
  unsafe

lilo accepts it, but when I try to use it, it doesn't get past 'Loading CD-ROM' -- its not autobooting the cd. Is it something to do with a chainloader?

ooooh, maybe.... find out how lilo calls the NTLDR... grub does it with "chainloader +1"

Re: Lilo to boot from CD

Hmmm.... I don't feel like looking any harder. I'll just use the fact that my motherboard allows me to press a key to get a boot menu. I was just curious, not looking for work. ;-)
