Hi, I have recently installed Arch and am trying to setup my system with applications and configurations that are useful from me and my family.
Over the weekend I installed MythTV, and managed to get is configured and running. Things were going along fine, through several reboots, and then yesterday the mythbackend daemon failed to start. I can start it no problem from the command line, and myth works fine. However, the daemon fails.
I have consulted the wiki, searched the forum reviewed the logs (to the extent I understand them) and have hit a wall.
Are there folks out there that have any suggestions that I might try?
Thanks,
Jeff

The solution was as follows:
/etc/rc.d/mythbackend had the
MBE_USER='root'
there was a /root/.mythtv folder
however the MBE_USER listed in /etc/conf.d/mythbackend was listed as
MBE_USER='mythtv'
once that was changed to root, it was all good again.
