Hello everyone. Just wondering... I often use console apart from my X11 session. I also use pulseaudio as my sound daemon. The problem is that when I start playing music in one console (let it be mplayer/mpc/whatever) and I switch to another one, the sound stops until I get back to the tty in which the player is run. The problem does not occur if I am logged on the console I switch to as the same user by which the player is started (e.g. console 1 - player working, console 2 - user logged in, the sound is available, console 3 - no user logged in, the sound stops as soon as that console becomes active). The sound also stops when I am logged onto a remote server via ssh on the console I switch to. Is it the way pulseaudio should behave or something is wrong with my configuration?
Thank you in advance for any answers.
Regards,
wassup

I also see this behavior, and I don't like it.
Don't know how to fix it ![]()

This is a feature. Pulseaudio uses consolekit to determine the user currently at the computer (for fast user switching etc.). This is just a wild guess but adding yourself to the audio group may help (but probably won't).
