mplayer sudenly stoped working ("GLIBC 2.14 not found") [SOLVED]

Im using Mplayer to play the notifications sounds in Pidgin and I noticed today that the sound in Pidgin didnt work. So I tried to play a MP3-file with Mplayer, and this is what it said:

[ ~ ]$ mplayer Desktop/Falty\ DL\ -\ Brazil\ \(J-One\ Remix\).mp3
mplayer: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /usr/lib/liblirc_client.so.0)

What to do?

Same here. I installed mplayer2 instead and it works fine with smplayer front-end.

Re: mplayer sudenly stoped working ("GLIBC 2.14 not found") [SOLVED]

Seems like the new lirc-utils build depends on a newer glibc (which is in [testing] it seems). Downgrading to lirc-utils 1:0.9.0-2 works for me.

Edit: lirc-utils 1:0.9.0-4 seems to be fixed, so upgrading again should also work.
