how can I reset manually the theme to default one.
I can't start E17 anymore because the chosen theme is broken, so i have to manage it outside of E17

enlightenment_remote -theme-set theme default.edjI would apriciate any help
E17 is great allready

You can trigger the initial setup dialog with
enlightenment_remote -default-profile-set defaultor just delete the E17 config directory(~/.e) which leads to the same result. Another thing you could try is to rename the default theme to the theme you were using and copy it to ~/.e/e/themes.

thanks,
first two ways make me lose all my settings wich is not aceptable as a solution.
3rd one would solve if i would know the name of the broken theme hohohohohoho
I installed the whole theme-package from AUR and was switching through them.
So, I hope there is still an elegant solution for this, losing all settings because of a theme is a real pain in the arse.

Couldn't you just rename the config directory, and then copy over your previous settings once E17's working properly (except the theme related info) ?

I couldn't even find the themes in the home/.e folder. the folder is kind of confusing
I have now deleted the .e folder and had to set everything again.
this topic is still unsolved though, since it can happen again and there must be a way to set the theme with a comand. so if anybody knows........

Don't know about a command but if it happens again you could do the backup and remove ~/.e/e/themes This should force e17 to start with the default theme.
Loosely related I would be careful with from themes for E17as there are quite a few old ones. E17 has changed quite a bit so better stick to the more recent themes.
Only now notice you installed themes from Aur in which case the location is "${pkgdir}/usr/share/enlightenment/data/themes". You could just uninstall the themes package.

thanks, i thought about that first...but then forgot ist because i thought thre must be a better way, and opened this thread.
but yea, this is better than excluding ~/.e

Just for reference:
In such cases, removal of `~/.e` may not be necessary. First try to empty the folder `~/.elementary/themes` and remove `~/.cache/efreet` and `~/.cache/evas_gl_common_caches` FROM OUTSIDE Enlightenment. Then if you still can't log in, remove `~/.e`.
Always back up `~/.e` when settings seem good to you and have a light DE (like icewm) to make repairs from inside it!
