I have just finished installing Archlinux *Phew*, got Xorg server and xfce4 up and running, everything went well but with one small problem.
My wireless interface is disabled every time I reboot, and I have to do 'ifconfig wlan0 up' every time to enable my wireless. How would I be able to enable the wireless automatically without me having to type the command every time I boot up?
BTW I use a compaq 147TX.

I meant that I was able to ENABLE wlan0 through 'ipconfig wlan0 up' or using netcfg, it's just that it's too cumbersome to activate the interface manually every time i boot up so I am searching for simpler methods. Any ideas?

The interface should come up automatically.
Does xfce has some kind of autorun file / folder? If it does, you can put it in there. (I've heard about /etc/xdg/autostart/ but I've never used it)
If you start xfce via .xinitrc, you can add any command you like to your .xinitrc.

wicd will auto-manage your connection upon rebooting. Also, you can add wicd-gtk for a nice little tray icon.
