xfce4 directory menu applet

Is there any way to add a label to the Directory Menu applet on XFCE4 so that it isn't just a picture?

Did you try right-click? Then you can configure which directory is loaded and can add a filter to what is shown...

Since you can change the icon, you could edit the one you want and add the text you want it to show. I know nothing about all that but i guess it shouldn't be too complicated, a bit like when people make Archlinux custom start buttons.
