[Solved] GRUB Error

When it comes to Arch, I pretty much define the term "n00b", but I'm pretty sure this problem is coming from the GRUB config file. It brings it up and tells you to review it and it was all Greek-looking to me, so I just closed it and continued with the installation.

I got Arch installed and everything went smoothly. On reboot after setup, I get this:

error: file not found
grub rescue>

Suggestions?

Re: [Solved] GRUB Error

grub is obviously unaware that you finished installation tongue
what you can do it use a livecd/liveusb to boot the computer, then enter in your /boot/grub folder and open menu.lst. For editing instructions, google.com or the archwiki

Re: [Solved] GRUB Error

I got GRUB working, but now I have a new problem. GRUB lists the following options:

Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26-lts
Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26-lts Fallback
Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26
Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26 Fallback
Memory test (memtest86+)

Choosing any of the Arch Linux options; for example, the first, yields the following error:

error: no such device: fb70f55b-e58a-4ac6-af45-19d19cc24d60.
Loading Linux vmlinuz26-lts ...
error: file not found.
Loading initial ramdisk ...
error: you need to load the kernel first.

Press any key to continue ...

Re: [Solved] GRUB Error

Pressing 'e' on the first option comes back with this:

setparams 'Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26-lts'

load_video
set gfxpayload=keep
insmod part_msdos
insmod ext2
set root='(hd0,msdos3)'
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid -set=root fb70f55b-e58a-4ac6-af45-19d19cc\
24d60
echo 'Loading Linux vmlinuz26-lts ...'
linux /boot/vmlinuz26-lts root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/fb70f55b-e58a-4ac6-af4\
5-19d19cc24d60 ro  quiet
echo 'Loading initial ramdisk ...'
initrd /boot/kernel26-lts.img

Re: [Solved] GRUB Error

I gave up and reinstalled Arch with help from a guy on YouTube. Works flawlessly now. Thanks anyway.

If there are any people here who learn better by seeing than by reading that wants the instruction videos, here's the first one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgbgYqLwDf0
