Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

Just upgraded.  Somehow nepomuk is not working.  Notification area says cannot start the service.  There is no file indexer option in the system settings, either.  Any idea what is going on?

In the last updates of soprano and strigi, I disabled the clucene support and strigiclient. Maybe this breaks something that I missed, I'll check again the logs.

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

I can confirm there's no nepomuk with 4.7 RC1:

ls -la /usr/share/kde4/services/ | grep nepomuk
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9,8K Lip 22 16:29 plasma-runner-nepomuksearch.desktop

Using KDE 4.6.3:

ls -la /media/Sid/usr/share/kde4/services/ | grep nepomuk
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8,6K Vel 25 23:07 kcm_nepomuk.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 28 Vel 25 22:54 nepomukactivitiesservice.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6,9K Tra 1 12:54 nepomukbackupsync.desktop

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

I just wonder if you guys have the same issue with kdm autologin. Dirk Müller reverted the monotonic clock in 4.6.4. Now it seems it is back on my end in the Chakra Distribution. kdm in 4.6.90 don't autologin in kdm anymore. there are several changes in git regarding monotonic clock. So my question is now: Can you still use autologin of kdm in 4.6.90 in Archlinux?

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

Autologin works just fine for me. Shutdown and logout doesn't seem to work though, but I think it's just something with the grub integration or something.

kdm autologin works well for me, in both 4.6.4 and 4.6.90

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

Logs were ok, but a rebuild of the kdebase-runtime added the missing nepomuk (WTF?).
strigi was missing the qtdbusclient library needed by kdepim-runtime to index files.
Everything is fixed with:
strigi 0.7.5-4
kdepim-runtime 4.6.90-2
kdebase-runtime 4.6.90-2

thanks for testing

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

Anyone experiences high and long nepomukserver CPU usage? I leaved it all night and it was constantly using ~30%-40% CPU. Restarting it fixes the issue, ie. it stops absorbing the CPU. Also, soprano-virtuoso.db doesn't get any bigger. I'm no expert regarding semantic destop , so i don't really know how to debug better

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

This is related to strigi - with disabling strigi file indexer CPU usage is back to normal

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

i have the same problem virtuoso and 2xNepomukserivces take about 10% all the time without doing anything useful when you look in systemsettings strigi is idle... disabling strigi helps here too
erasing the database/config doesnt help

edit:
hm i dont get this since the last update:
the Quick launch icons arent working any more and akregator/rekonq freezes sometimes for a few seconds and uses ~12% of the CPU when there are freezed -.-

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

can anyone point me to a valid bug report. It seems with 4.7rc 1 nepomuck and virtuoso-t both take 80% of my CPU. I have kmail 2 installed too, it this bug even thought of as a priority?

Same thing here, even with a completely clean user.  It is basically unusable, now.  Hope it gets fixed soon.

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

Hi with the latest release of Kde I encounter a problem with my activities. I can no more use them, I obtain simply a blank:

I guess it's maybe a nepomuk problem isn't? Ho and also I can't use kipi-plugin but it's less important than the first bug I related.

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

I have activities listed, altough they are empty -ie. photos and search and launch activity are the same as desktop activity. I really don't use activities so that's no problem for me.

Activities and nepomuk aren't related. Anyway activities are working here, I use them often.
About kipi-plugin read the first post on this thread.

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

It seems like the WLM Plugin in Kopete is broken with 4.6.90. Kopete says that the WLM Plugin cannot be loaded.
It did work with the previous beta though.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE 4.7

Ok thanks now I know how to use ABS, to modify their PKBUILD and I guess that kipi-plugins will now work.
Kipi-plugins work. I hope a kipi-plugins for kde 4.7rc1 will be compile in the kde-unstable repository.
