Hi there,
as the title says, my Amarok isn't starting anymore since I did the latest update (from today to 2.4.1-3).
I see my bouncing logo animation on the cursor for a few seconds and after that it just disappears and nothing happens.
Did this happen to anyone else? Any hints what I can do now to fix this?
Thanks in advance!

Try running it from a console and see what it outputs, additionally check .xsession-errors for anything related. "Something doesn't start" isn't really going to get you any help

Ok, sorry for that - just thought someone else run into that too - now some details:

Looks like the phonon-xine backend is having trouble...
Does it help if you switch to the phonon-vlc backend instead?
Offline
Yeah, the xine backend is sadly unmaintained, so better switch to phonon-gstreamer or phonon-vlc as stated above.
Offline
awesome - thanks stuffel and spctrl - switching from xine to phonon-vlc helped - everything working again now
