As the topic says. Anyone have this problem? This started as shotwell upgraded to 0.8 version.
I've tried to compile Shotwell too and also all the direct dependencies of it, but nothing has worked.
There isn't much ouput when I run it from cli:
$ nice shotwell
libusb couldn't open USB device /dev/bus/usb/002/002: Permission denied.
libusb requires write access to USB device nodes.
Terminated
As you see I need to terminate it since it is frozen and will soon froze my laptop too as it starts to swap out.
The usb problem isn't the issue here (I guess...) since I'm not having any camera plugged and I'm just trying to view my photos.
Deleting all the settings won't help here.
Any clues what's behind this?
Here's some system information:
$ inxi -xv2

Thanks in advance.

I guess I try darktable while shotwell is broken (for me).

I seem to be suffering from the same issue now. Weird thing is it worked the other day just fine. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this. All my permissions are correct as far as I can tell.

Does it do that when viewing images on your HDD or only when accessing a usb device?
I laugh, yet the joke is on me

I figured out my was caused from the the main aurora gtk engine theme. Didn't catch the error but when I noticed I had the same problem with wicd-client and when I switched themes the problem is gone.

Wait? What? I happen to use Aurora too... O.o

... but changing the theme didn't help here.

Ok. I bought a new camera... Now I need a _working_ photo manager. Any suggestions for alternative Photo collection manager that can read and write IPTC tags?

Finally.
Doing
pacman -R gtk-aurora-engine
solved the problems after X restart. But not until now (on version 0.10).
So... I wonder what special was added since 0.8 that it started to conflict/crash with aurora. O.o
