Hello everyone,
I am somewhat new with linux. Have learned alot using arch but theres stil a long way to go :-)
I am currently running LXDE and would like to try xfce4 as an alternative.
When i use pacman -S xfce4 i get this error:
error: failed retrieving file 'xfconf-4.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from mirrors.dotsrc.org : File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
error: failed retrieving file 'xfconf-4.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from mirrors.dotsrc.org : Not Found
error: failed retrieving file 'xfconf-4.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from ftp.klid.dk : File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
error: failed retrieving file 'xfconf-4.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from archlinux.limun.org : Not Found
error: failed retrieving file 'xfconf-4.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from www.archlinuxppc.org : File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
error: failed retrieving file 'xfconf-4.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from mirror.giantix-server.de : No address record
That's the only package it cannot download. All the other packages downloads without a problem. After doing a google search for the package, i found this website http://pkgs.org/archlinux/archlinux-ext … ar.xz.html.
It is obvious that the package names are different and therefore I'm guessing that either the depencies for xfce4 are outdated or that all of the mirrors i have chosen are outdated (selected all danish and german mirrors from the default mirror list). A solution could be to manually download the package and get pacman to use that package instead of the other, but i'm not sure how to do this.
Any help is appreciated. Im guessing that it is probably a quick fix for the veterans in here.
TL;DR
pacman -S xfce4 can't find xfconf-4.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Quick google search suggests that the package is outdated and i need xfconf-4.8.0-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
How?
EDIT: Spelling...

pacman -Syu xfce4

Thank you! So i guess it was my package database that was out of date.
