HDMI audio not working in HP Pavilion dv4 1290-br

Hello, people.

I can't get my HDMI audio to work on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv4 1290-br). The output of aplay -l is:

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: STAC92xx Digital [STAC92xx Digital]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I've tried setting ~/.asoundrc, /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf, /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base... Nothing works.

Can someone help me out here?

Thanks!

Re: HDMI audio not working in HP Pavilion dv4 1290-br

I've a DV4 and I did get it to work many months back; and have not done it since.  If I recall correctly, I had to resort to JACK.  YMMV
