No sound coming from speakers or headphones.

Hello all,

I have just installed "alsa-utils alsa-oss alsa-plugins" but i cannot for the life of me get any sound. I have checked the alsamixer and both the master and capture are turned to 100 and not muted. I have also ran the lspci command to find my audio card and recieved the following result. AUDIO CARDL: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01).

If anyone has any ideas or questions for me then please ask and post away.

So can we assume you've looked at the wiki for help on setting up the card? Get any errors from CLI? Look at dmesg for errors/hints or some of the logs in /var/log then post relevant sections please.

What does your daemons in rc.conf look like? Silly question but have you checked the wiring to the speakers and whatnot? (you wouldn't believe how often this subject comes up and some nerd ends up posting back that, in fact, the speakers were not plugged in to begin with!)

Just ran dmesg | grep audio and got the following results

the speakers are plugged in haha. As for my deamons array in rc.conf

Fixed it

sudo rm ~/.pulse/1*

reboot

It works now
