Sound is always muted at startup.

Hi All,

Everytime I restart my ArchLinux sound is always muted by default.  I hate it.

I tried setting the proper sound volume and running:
alsactl store
But still, no luck.  It's really bothering me and I've 'put up' with is for weeks now :-(
