Any plans to increase CPU requirements?

ArchLinux has always been proud to be optimized for modern CPU's and not supporting i386, i486 or i586, to be faster. The install guide says: "A Pentium Pro, Pentium II or AMD Athlon (K7) processor or higher is required."

Aren't a Pentium II or a K7 pretty dated though?

Maybe support for even more CPU's can be dropped in favor of more modern instruction sets?

No plans.   Move to x86_64 if you want newer processor support.

And/or use abs for the few packages that actually gives you a noticable speed increase when compiled with -mss(e)e3 etc
