i just installed arch,
i go to /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

and uncoment a repo close to me.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Be … ith_pacman

i then refresh by typing "pacman -Syy"

it fails with error: "failed to retrieve.. from mirror ... file not found, no access"
its a long list of those error messages.

Re: pacman -Syy refresh fails

Which mirror did you choose? Maybe it's down... You can see here whether or not a mirror is updated. Also, you can use this site to generate a new mirrorlist...

Re: pacman -Syy refresh fails

Remove the offending mirror from /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

CPU-optimized Linux-ck packages @ Repo-ck  • AUR packagesZsh and other configs

@hermanningjaldsson
Have you used the links frazar0 posted?
Grab a fresh mirrorlist http://www.archlinux.org/mirrorlist/ and run 'pacman -Syyu'.

Re: pacman -Syy refresh fails

i cant copy that link collection to my linux computer for i dont have any browser running on it.

i would think that just hand typing one of those servers into my mirrorlist should do the trick though.
it doesnt.

i reinstalled arch,
but i still get the same error, it is:
error: failed retrieving file [somefile] from mirror.archlinux.no : File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)

It looks like you uncommented every repository in pacman.conf.

First, why use testing and community-testing? unless you want to help test extremely new packages that might make your system unstable I suggest to disable both repositories and run

pacman -Syyuu

to downgrade your system to stable repos only.

Second, you have uncommented [custom], which is just a template for making a local repository and should not be uncommented, comment it out too.

Go back and read the Beginners' Guide carefully. Each and every thread you have opened here is a result of your not having read the documentation and followed it.

If you are not prepared to read the documentation provided by the community, you are going to continue to find that you are unable to accomplish even the simplest things with Arch. You have already been warned about help-vampirism: please do your research before posting again.
