I agree with dibblethewrecker, but I will go with wondering that four.

I'm interested in this as well...I've seen it asked many times in other threads, and nobody ever answered back. I also tried an automatic font recognition program, and it came up with a few close hits, but couldn't nail it down.
Offline
Only Apeiro would know the answer... and he probably forgot too, hehe.

you can try with this: http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

That comes up with 56 results, some are very close, but no direct hits.

the AUR logo in the top of this forum has the same font. The guy that made it probably knows which font he used.
And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
They're all resting down in Cornwall
writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition
of the Boy Scout Manual.

I asked Judd. He doesn't remember.

Well the in Arch Logo SVG's available, the text isnt a font, it's drawn.
Offline
Was is Judd who created the aur logo as well? Someone had to have access to the correct font in order to make the 'u' (the 'a' and 'r' could have been stolen from the svg version of the arch logo).
Offline
Judd said a friend did it for him... if he runs into said friend, he'll ask him, but they've fallen out of touch.

Uhm... That's because .svg's has all gfx as vectors. It's drawn the moment you type the letter.

As to the AUR logo, I looked through the logs (we've got it under subversion) dp is responsible for checking in that logo, and it hasn't been touched since he did so. Perhaps asking him might yield some answers.
The suggestion box only accepts patches.

Doesn't look like it's free though. Too bad.

you can get a font of the non bold bit here: http://www.freefunfiles.com/software/gr … -font.html
hit download, and you get a zip with 1 font in it.

and a boldened one here
http://www.kde.org/stuff/clipart.php
neither of them are quite perfect, but are pretty close -- better than paying 44US.

ok, the light font, the first one I linked is a perfect match. THe one in the Arch logo is identical except for some slight resizings. the bold one is close.

the bold one in the arch logo is almost definitely karat bold. there's a medium one, which is slightly bolder but not enough.

That is a close match. Good work finding those fonts, iphitus.
